Cost-OS 2025: Year in Review

As we look back on 2025, it’s clear that this was a year defined by growth and achievement for both the Cost-OS Team and the users we support every day. From major product advancements to community engagement and industry events, this year reflected our continued commitment to helping estimators work smarter and with greater confidence! Here are a few highlights from 2025:

Celebrating 10 Years of Cost-OS, LLC

One of the biggest milestones of the year was celebrating 10 years of Cost-OS, LLC! Over the past decade, our focus has remained the same: delivering powerful, practical estimating solutions backed by real industry experience and responsive support. Reaching this anniversary gave us a chance to reflect on how far the platform has come and to thank the customers and partners who have grown with us along the way. The past ten years have built a strong foundation, and we are excited for all that comes next.

CosMO Adoption Continues

This year, we officially launched CosMO, our web-based solution for cost modeling and benchmarking. CosMO helps organizations bring together historical cost data, standardize it, and turn it into meaningful insight for future planning. Several CostOS users began implementing CosMO earlier on, using it to strengthen early-stage cost planning and improve long-term data consistency across projects.

Advancing Preconstruction Conference 2025

Cost-OS was proud to attend the 10th Annual Advancing Preconstruction Conference in 2025. The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with current users, meet new industry professionals, and take part in important conversations about the future of preconstruction. Events like this allow us to stay involved with the challenges and priorities of estimating teams. We are already looking forward to returning for the 2026 conference in May of 2026!

Growing in the Cloud with AWS

More and more CostOS users made the move to the cloud throughout 2025 through our partnership with Amazon Web Services. Cloud environments managed by Cost-OS provide expert oversight, streamlined support, and predictable performance. Updates and patches are handled outside of working hours, resources (CPU, RAM, Storage) can scale as needed, and security is maintained using industry best practices. With built-in data recovery measures and a clear service agreement, CostOS cloud users gain both flexibility and peace of mind!

Team Livin’ on a Spare

2025 was also a year of strengthening connections within our own team. Several members of Cost-OS formed a bowling league team, aptly named Team Livin’ on a Spare. It has been great to see coworkers spending time together outside of the office. A strong team culture supports everything we do, and we love seeing those bonds grow beyond work.

Growth of The Cost-OS Customer Compass

Our Customer Compass user forum continued to grow and evolve this year. This space is dedicated exclusively to CostOS users and serves as a hub for product updates, knowledge sharing, and direct engagement with our team. Users have found the forum to be a valuable resource for all-things-CostOS, as well as a prime way to stay connected to the ongoing development of the platform.

The Launch of CostOS 2D Takeoff

The release of our new embedded 2D Takeoff was the most impactful product update we have delivered to date. This modern takeoff experience was built to be fast, intuitive, and closely connected to the estimating process. By removing friction between takeoff and estimating, teams can move seamlessly from measurement to cost development while maintaining a clear and detailed audit trail. This updated interface has also made it even easier for new users and new estimators to get up to speed quickly, which is a major win for growing teams.

Cost-OS User-Exclusive Webinar Series

Throughout 2025, we continued hosting user-only webinars focused on helping customers get the most out of CostOS. Sessions covered topics such as CosMO, the new 2D Takeoff, and other advanced platform features. These webinars give users practical guidance and direct access to our team, supporting ongoing learning and stronger day-to-day use of the software.

Strengthening Multiuser Collaboration

In 2025, we continued enhancing how estimating teams collaborate within CostOS. The platform supports true multiuser environments, allowing multiple estimators to work in the same estimate at the same time, with all changes visible in real time. Ongoing improvements to performance and data visibility help teams stay aligned and avoid version confusion. Whether working side by side or remotely, CostOS users benefit from a more connected and efficient estimating process, something we seek to continually build on for years to come.

Looking Ahead: 2025 was a year of meaningful progress for Cost-OS, from celebrating a decade in business to delivering one of our most significant product advancements yet. Most importantly, it was a year spent working alongside the estimators, cost engineers, and project teams who rely on our software every day. We are grateful for the trust our users place in us and excited to continue building, improving, and supporting the industry throughout 2026!
